Direct Data Entry (DDE)

The DDE System is an online application that will allow direct online access to your Medicare claims. Some features of the DDE System are:

WPS Medicare offers two options for connectivity to DDE through IVANS and VisionShare. Both connections meet current CMS requirements. WPS Medicare does not recommend one option over the other.

IVANS Inc. provides a direct connection to the DDE System through a high-speed internet connection, secure dial-up, or dedicated leased line, depending upon the provider's needs. With IVANS solution, providers can access the complete Medicare workflow, including real-time Medicare eligibility verification, claims status inquiry, remittance advice, claims submission and confirmation, and precertification/referral. IVANS charges a flat monthly fee or hourly fee, based upon the service selected.

A reliable and cost-effective alternative to metered dial-up connectivity or leased lines, VisionShare software connects you over the Internet for both real-time access and batch claims submission.

This same CMS-approved and HIPAA-compliant software also provides access to the Medicare Eligibility Database (HETS) and supports 270 / 271 real-time beneficiary eligibility verification. In addition, you can access the Medicare system and use it as much as you wish for one low, flat rate. No modems are needed and you will not experience any metered dial-up charges or long distance fees.

New DDE Connection

If you are a Provider, Corporate Office, Central Business Office (CBO) or Third Party, and you are requesting a new DDE connection or you are changing software vendors, complete the following form:

Medicare System Access Agreement
The Access Agreement ID Request Form is also required to be complete. This form is attached to the Medicare System Access Agreement. The Third Party will also need to complete the following form in addition to the Medicare System Access Agreement:
Third Party Access Agreement
This form must be signed by both the Third Party and the provider the Third Party is requesting access to.

Note: A Medicare System Access Agreement is also required whenever there is a change of ownership, facility name, address or PTAN/NPI number change. In addition, when there is a change of ownership, CMS requires the new owner to obtain new Logon IDs.

Current DDE Connection

If you are a Provider, Corporate Office or Central Business Office (CBO) and currently have access to the DDE System and need to request an additional Logon ID, add a NPI/PTAN (Provider) number to an existing Logon ID, re-establish an existing Logon ID or terminate a Logon ID, complete the following form:
