A Dangerous Combination
Aspirin may work well to bring down your fever, but don’t give aspirin to your child, unless your doctor tells you to. It could be downright dangerous. Giving aspirin to a child under age 20 has been linked to a rare, but serious disease called Reye syndrome. Many over-the-counter medicines contain aspirin, including Alka-Seltzer and Pepto-Bismol. Read labels carefully.
